Boksic to quit Riverside?

Boro boss Steve McClaren will scour the transfer market this week in a desperate attempt to find a solution to Boro's goalscoring problem.

Boro again failed to find the target on Boxing Day, as the Teesiders went down 3-0 to Newcastle. Steve McClaren's men have now only scored once in the last five games.

Star striker Alen Boksic is understood to be very unhappy and is looking for a move away from the Riverside. The striker was taken off against Newcastle, and showed his disgust by running straight up the tunnel.

Having given his current crop of strikers enough chances, Steve McClaren is understood to have finally accepted he must go into the transfer market.

One name Boro are being linked with is Manchester United's Andy Cole, a player McClaren coached at United before moving to Boro in the summer. McClaren still has close links at Old Trafford, and could get Cole for a bargain £5 Million. Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City are also tracking the striker.
