Boro striker Alen Boksic has done a dramatic u-torn and decided not to link up with the Croatian National team next week, putting his club before country

The big Croatian had been due to play 2 games in 4 days for his country as Croatia visit South Korea as preparation for next year's world cup.

However, Boksic today pulled out of the squad, putting Boro top of his list of priority's. "I cannot travel to Korea, play two games in four days, travel back and then be ready for Boro's next game in the Premiership", said Boksic.

The new will be welcomed by Boro boss Steve McClaren who needs Boksic in the team, if his side is to progress further up the league.
