Sunderland have signed Parma and Cameroon international striker Patrick Mboma, for a reported £4 Million
The experienced Mboma has agreed a three-year deal with The Black Cats and will bring manager Peter Reid's long search for a new striking partner for Kevin Phillips to an end.
Mboma is seen as the perfect replacement for Niall Quinn, who is expected to end his Sunderland playing days at the end of this season.
Mboma has just finished helping his country win the African Nations cup, where he finished as top goalscorer.
The 31 year old will link up with his new team mates later this week, after taking a few days break after the gruelling tournament.
With no Premiership game next week because of the F.A Cup, Mboma is expected to make his Sunderlands debut against North-East rivals, Sunderland, a week on Sunday.
Mboma is a big, powerful striker, who will provide the perfect foil for Kevin Philips.
