Newcastle quartet sent home in shame

Craig Bellamy, Kieron Dyer, Carl Cort and Andy Griffin have been sent home from Newcastle's Spanish break for what has been described as a "breach of discipline".

All four players have returned home to England early from the spell near Marbella which was set up because of the break for International games this week.

It is not clear what exactly has happened as the first news of the story came from the club itself early this morning. A spokesman said: "Four players were sent home for a breach of club disciplinary rules. They have subsequently been fined and as far as the club is concerned the matter is now closed."

However, as far as the story being "closed" is very unlikely. Already rumours of why the four were sent home are starting to spread. SKY News claimed that the quartet failed to show at a special dinner given in honour of Sir John Hall, preferring to do "other things"
