Bellamy problem confirmed

Newcastle today finally admitted that Craig Bellamy is likely to be out for a minimum of three weeks, as Northeastsoccer exclusively revealed at the start of the week.

It had seemed that Bellamy was ok, after an initial scan, but the striker has been feeling uncomfortable in training all week.

It is understood that a second scan revealed knee ligament damage, and Bobby Robson confirmed this today, saying it is similar to Alan Shearer's former knee problem, but not as great.

Bellamy is certain to miss the home clash with Arsenal on Saturday, and is very doubtful for the games against Liverpool, and Arsenal again in the cup.

After this, Newcastle fans will just have to pray. The usual recovery time for an injury like this is 6 weeks, although Magpie official are confident Bellamy can return sooner, if given complete rest.
