Mark Crossley's Boro future is in serious doubt after the player and the club failed to agree terms on a new deal.
Despite being one of Boro's most consistent players so far this season, Crossley has found himself once again out in the cold at the Riverside, following the return of Mark Schwarzer to first team football.
Crossley is happy with the two year deal Boro have offered, but the player's wages seems to be a stumbling block.
The player's agent Ian Elliot today confirmed this saying: "We're still very hopeful - but I'm disappointed with the way talks have gone for a player whose future should already be sewn up.
"Bearing in mind what Mark's done this season, we're disappointed and frustrated - Mark's not happy with the terms."
If terms can not be agreed, it is likely Barnsley will move for the forest Notts Forest player, who will be allowed to leave for nothing.
