Ian Clark's proposed move to Darlington is in danger of collapse after Pools' put a £20,000 price tag on his head.
Since the interest from Darlington, Clark has been put in the reserves and missed Tuesday nights 4-0 demolition of Hull City.
Darlington are said to be very keen on Clark, but they are not prepared to match Hartlepool's £20,000 valuation as he is out of contract at the end of the season, and will be available on a free transfer.
However it is very likely that Clark will be leaving Victoria Park. Its hard to see how he could continue at the club after wanting to join its main local enemies. If a deal between Pools' and Darlo can not be reached, the likelihood is that Clark will join another fellow Third Division outfit.
