Craig Bellamy faces a late fitness test while youngster Brian Kerr has been thrown into the squad ahead of tonight’s FA Cup clash with Arsenal.
Bellamy who has missed the two defeats to Arsenal and Liverpool, in the last week, is rated as 50/50 for the clash. Bobby Robson knows if the inform striker is fit, it will be a huge boost for his side, and has given Bellamy as much time as possible to prove his fitness.
Elsewhere Jermaine Jenas is cup-tied after playing for Nottingham Forest in the earlier rounds, and Gary Speed is ruled out through injury.
On the positive side for Newcastle is the absence of Arsenal’s Thierry Henry, who will begin the first of a three match ban, following his outburst after the Premiership clash between the two teams at Highbury last December.
