Saturday team news

Premiership

Middlesbrough Vs Liverpool(noon kick-off)

Benito Carbone is set to return to the Boro starting line-up after missing the 3-0 cup win over Everton last week as he was cup-tied.

Carbone should replace Silizard Nemeth, who will count himself unlucky to miss out after getting on the score sheet in the win over the Merseysiders.

Elsewhere, Boro boss Steve McClaren has no fresh injury worries for this live Sky television clash.

Tickets are still available for the game, some as little as £18.50 for adults.

Newcastle Vs Ipswich

Jamie McClen is out for four weeks and will miss the visit of struggling Ipswich on Saturday. The youngster has a torn calf muscle.

The better news for Bobby Robson is the return to fitness of Kieron Dyer. Dyer is back in contention after recovering from his long lay-off, but Robson may chose to give him another weeks rest, and continue with Carl Cort instead.

Elsewhere the Magpies are set to be unchanged.

Chelsea Vs Sunderland

Sunderland have been rocked by the news striker Kevin Philips may miss this game after sitting out Frday’s training session with a knee problem.

It is not yet known how serious the injury news, but sources within the club are indicating Philips is a major doubt ahead of the clash.

Better news for the Peter Reid is that Gavin McCann, Paul Thirlwell and Claudio Reyna are all ready to make their comebacks.

Division 3

York City Vs Darlington

Striker Glen Naylor could be given his first start of the season against his old club, in this derby clash.

Naylor hasn't feature at all this season because of a cruciate ligament injury, but the striker now seems to be finally fit to return.

Naylor is likely to partner Ian Clark upfront with Neil Maddison returning to his favoured midfield position.

Gary Pearson has also recovered from his hamstring problem and will be in the centre of defence alongside Craig Liddle.

Rochdale Vs Hartlepool

Chris Turner is likely to name an unchanged team for tomorrow's trip to Rochdale after Micky Barron and James Coppinger were both passed fit on Friday.

Barron is back after missing the 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers last week due to a groin strain, while James Coppinger is likely to be on the bench.

It is a crucial game for Pools, and one they will be looking to win to boost their promotion hopes.
