2 More leave the Riverside

Steve McClaren today continued his rebuilding process at the Riverside by letting two more players leave the club.

Firstly Mark Summerbell who has 50 first team appearances to his name has left for Stockport County, surprisingly on free transfer. At 23 many Boro fans' will have thought the club should have received a fee for the player, but it seems McClaren's 'clear ranks at all costs' policy continues. McClaren is determined to rid his squad of the deadwood inherited by Bryan Robson, and it seems he isn't too concerned about transfer fees if he can cut the wage bill.

Another player to leave is Steve Baker, who has had far ewer opportunities at the Riverside. Baker is close to agreeing a move, again on a free transfer, to conference local side Scarborough. Baker will be most remembered for man marking Steve McManaman out of the game, in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final against Liverpool.
