Steve McClaren’s Boro winter sale continues with Dean Gordon the latest player to leave the club on loan. The former Crystal Palace man has joined second division Cardiff City on loan.
Gordon is the fourth player to go out on loan this week. He joins Fleming (Birmingham), Summerbell (Stockport), and Baker (Scarbrough).
Steve Vickers has been on loan at Crystal Palce, while Brian Deane is close to finalising his move to Leicester, as McClaren clears out the Boro deadwood. The hope seems to be that by allowing these players to go out on loan, they will eventually move, and McClaren will save on Boro’s rather large wage bill. It is understood McClaren needs to cut the wage bill, before he can bring any other players in.
