Boro boss Steve McClaren admitted his side were not at the races on Saturday, as Liverpool cruised to a 2-0 win at Anfield.

The Boro boss wasn’t happy with his sides performance, particularly Middlesbrough’s passing.

McClaren said: "We started brightly and I thought we defended well and I couldn't see them scoring, but then they had two long-range efforts which have undone us.

"The goal before half-time made it a non game in the second half, but we were disappointed with the other side of things because we normally pass the ball much better and create chances.

"Obviously, losing your goalkeeper after 20 minutes is never the best, but Marlon did well for us today and he was only beaten by two tremendous efforts." He added
